Hair Loss — Deficiency Profile
CHF 100
- Who it is for
- Anyone experiencing hair loss who wants first to rule out nutritional and thyroid causes.
- What we analyse
- Full blood count, vitamin B12, folic acid, biotin, zinc in whole blood, transferrin saturation, TSH.
- How it is carried out
- Blood sample.
- Why it matters
- Iron, zinc, B12 and the thyroid are the most common and the most correctable causes: always the first to be ruled out.
- How to prepare
- 12 h fasting. Stop biotin-containing supplements 3 days beforehand (they interfere with the assays).
- Turnaround time
- 7–10 days

- What we analyse
- LH, FSH, estradiol, total testosterone, SHBG, free androgen index.
- How it is carried out

- Why it matters
- Total testosterone on its own is misleading: SHBG and free androgens are needed to understand how much hormone is genuinely active.
- How to prepare
- Morning sample, between 7:00 and 10:00 (testosterone follows a marked circadian rhythm).
- Turnaround time
- 7–10 days
