Dr. med. Alessandro Martinelli is an FMH specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology of the Musculoskeletal System, with dedicated training in paediatric orthopaedics. He completed his residency with honours at the Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli in Bologna and a fellowship in Paediatric Orthopaedics at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He also holds a Master in Business Administration from SDA Bocconi.

For more than ten years he has cared for the musculoskeletal system of children and adolescents. At Medical Center Sorengo he assesses posture, gait and bone and muscle development during growth, so that any abnormality is recognised early and the most suitable path, conservative or surgical, is chosen together with the family.

Services include paediatric orthopaedic consultations, assessment of developmental hip dysplasia, flat foot and clubfoot, lower limb deformities such as knock knees, bow legs and leg length discrepancy, scoliosis and spinal conditions during growth, paediatric and youth sports traumatology, second opinions and planning of any surgical treatment.
